— 1 · The Locked Call

Titan's Q2 FY2027 consolidated total income is at least ₹18,000 crore — P = 0.91.

We lock a binary: Titan Company's reported consolidated total income for Q2 FY2027 is ₹18,000 crore or higher. Confidence 91%.

Q1 delivered ₹20,753 crore. The threshold sits about 13% below that, and the reason is a calendar rather than a concern.

— 2 · Indian jewellery demand runs on a festival calendar, not a business cycle

Akshaya Tritiya falls in Q1. Diwali falls in Q3. Q2 is the gap between them.

Titan's Q1 was explicitly attributed to festive demand during Akshaya Tritiya, one of the most auspicious gold-buying days in the Indian calendar. Q2 — July to September — contains no comparable festival. Diwali and the wedding season land in Q3.

A threshold derived by simply discounting Q1 slightly would therefore have been badly calibrated: Q2 is structurally the weaker quarter, and that is not a sign of anything going wrong. The 13% buffer prices the calendar. This is the same reasoning applied to Carrefour at P-268, where the floor was set below the prior year because grocery cash flow is seasonally violent, and it is the opposite of the mistake of annualising a strong quarter.

There is also a metric trap worth naming. Titan reports jewellery income of ₹18,253 crore for Q1 EXCLUDING bullion and digital gold sales — a figure that sits very close to our ₹18,000 crore threshold but measures something different and narrower than consolidated total income of ₹20,753 crore. The criterion below scores consolidated total income and excludes the jewellery segment figure explicitly.

The residual 9% is the gold price. Titan benefited from stable gold in Q1; a sharp spike suppresses volumes as buyers defer, while a collapse hits realised value per piece. Either direction can hurt.

Binary: YES if reported Q2 FY2027 (quarter ended 30 September 2026) CONSOLIDATED TOTAL INCOME is ₹18,000 crore or greater; NO if below. Consolidated total income — NOT the jewellery division income (₹18,253 crore in Q1 excluding bullion and digital gold, a narrower figure that sits close to this threshold), NOT watches or EyeCare separately, NOT standalone total income, NOT profit before or after tax, and NOT revenue excluding other income if presented separately.

The jewellery segment figure of ₹18,253 crore sits within a whisker of this ₹18,000 crore threshold and measures something narrower. Naming the line is not optional here.
